Frisco Rough Riders and Dr Pepper Ballpark                         

On April 3, 2003, Dr Pepper Ballpark opened and was named the best new ballpark in baseball by baseballparks.com.  The Frisco RoughRiders (short form: 'Riders), who currently play at the Dr. Pepper Ballpark are currently the Class AA affiliate of the Texas Rangers major league baseball club. The team plays in the Texas League, assigned to the South Division.

Prior to 2003, the franchise was based in Shreveport, Louisiana, and were known as the Shreveport Captains.  In 2003, they were purchased by Mandalay Entertainment in connection with Tom Hicks, owner of the Texas Rangers and the company that owns it, Southwest Sports Group. Mandalay Baseball moved them to the Dallas suburb of Frisco and changed their name to the RoughRiders.

Pizza Hut Park

Hawaiian Falls Waterpark                                                 

Today a Hawaiian surfer from Oahu will catch the first wave at the new Waikiki Beach wave pool at the new Hawaiian Falls in The Colony, Mansfield and Firewheel. The new parks feature 12 slides, the football field sized wave pool, two kiddie areas and food court restaurants for everything from hot dogs, nachos and cold drinks as well as Pizza Hut Express Pizza..

A throwback to past days, this daily event was introduced to celebrate "Fort Worth 150," the anniversary of the city's founding as a military outpost on the banks of the Trinity River. Now, when the weather cooperates, cowboys and cowgirls herd a dozen or so Texas longhorns from Exchange Avenue and back each afternoon. Although you can see the cattle anywhere along their route, the best place to view the herd is from Stockyards Station, the visitors center, and the Livestock Exchange Building. The drive takes place at roughly 11:30am and 4pm daily .

Named for the appearance of the numerous rail lines radiating from Fort Worth, the Tarantula Train has been (and remains) a city signature. A restored steam engine dating to 1896 moves passengers between Fort Worth and Grapevine. In Fort Worth, the Stockyards Station depot is the main stop; Grapevine uses the Cotton Belt depot at 707 South Main. Tickets can be purchased at the Stockyards location for both "Riding the Rail" routes. One-way and round-trip journeys are both available. Call for details.

For more than 30 years, the Cowboys have been playing at Texas Stadium, one of the most recognizable stadiums in football. However, just like every other team in the NFL, the Cowboys are constructing a new state of the art stadium in Arlington. The new home of the Cowboys will become one of the most recognizable stadiums in all of sports. The stadium will feature distinct arches that span the length of the stadium, a retractable roof, that when open will create a hole like at Texas Stadium, and open endzone plazas. The open endzone plazas, the world's tallest at 120ft. high by 180ft. wide, will be made of glass and open in 18 minutes. Plaza's will be outside with three party decks.
